ROYL: how to maintain your floor

A soap treatment leaves the skin feeling tight. Intensive cleansing therefore calls for a planned follow-up treatment with oil.

The soaping instructions below apply to ROYL Floor Soap with the updated formula on suitable ROYL oil or hardwax oil finishes. Check your label, especially with an older bottle.

Care task 1

Clean and nourish with Floor Soap

Choose ROYL Floor Soap Clear or White to match the existing finish.

  1. Remove dust. Shake the bottle, especially the white version.
  2. Mix approximately 50 ml with 5 litres of lukewarm water. Fill a second bucket with clean water.
  3. Mop with a slightly damp mop, loosen dirt and remove the dirty water before it dries. Rinse the mop separately.
  4. Afterwards, pull the well-wrung mop through the soap water so that a thin layer of soap remains.
  5. Leave to rest for approximately 45 minutes and until completely dry.

Do not use a steam cleaner. ROYL recommends alternating with Mild Cleaner to prevent soap layers from becoming too thick.

Care task 2

Clean thoroughly with Intensive Cleaner

Use ROYL Intensive Cleaner for a thorough treatment, with the appropriate oil ready for the aftertreatment.

  1. Dust off and mix approximately 200 ml with 5 litres of warm water according to the label.
  2. Clean in sections, work with a slightly damp surface and remove the loosened dirt according to the ROYL working method.
  3. Allow to dry. The data sheet states that restoration with the original finishing products should be carried out 4–8 hours after drying.

Before carrying out the oil restoration, follow the manufacturer's processing and safety instructions. The floor will be ready again only after the drying time required for the aftertreatment.
